During the unveiling ceremony, Borzou Qanbari, NIOC's director of construction and procurement support, highlighted the critical role of this equipment in the precise management, monitoring, and measurement of hydrocarbon materials in storage tanks.
He stated that the localization of this product would lead to foreign currency savings, adherence to passive defense considerations and security principles at storage sites, and the replacement of imported equipment with high-quality Iranian-made alternatives.
Qanbari added that the initiative aligns with the legal mandates to boost production, maximize the use of domestic manufacturing and service capabilities, and support Iranian-made goods.
The project aims to develop technical expertise, enhance engineering capabilities within the country, and accelerate the second phase of localizing strategic oil industry equipment. After consolidating the needs of NIOC subsidiaries and identifying a capable company in this field, the groundwork for localizing the equipment was laid.
The radar level transmitter, utilizing advanced technology, can measure liquid levels with high accuracy, reducing the need for continuous calibration. This feature significantly lowers maintenance and repair costs.
The tank gauging system, with its advanced capabilities, enables optimal monitoring and control of oil storage tanks. It can send precise, real-time data on tank conditions to the control center, facilitating quick and effective decision-making in resource management.
This achievement not only enhances productivity in Iran's oil industry but also represents a significant step toward self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on foreign technology. By adopting this technology, Iran can make remarkable progress in managing its oil resources and serve as a regional model.
