Record-breaking fuel loading achieved at Mahshahr oil depot: NIOPDC

SHANA (Tehran) – The operations manager of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced a record daily loading of over 37 million liters of petroleum products at the Mahshahr oil depot in the Abadan region.

Nematollah Najafi stated that loading this volume of products using more than 1,137 tankers is unprecedented in the history of the company's fuel distribution activities.

Najafi noted that this record is ongoing at the depot, adding that previously, around 24.5 million liters were loaded daily at this facility.

He emphasized that the Mahshahr oil depot, located in Khuzestan province, is one of the country's most critical fuel supply facilities.

Due to its strategic geographic location, the depot plays a key role in storing and distributing petroleum products while supporting other regions across the nation.

Highlighting the depot's strategic importance and storage capacity, Najafi said approximately 10% of the country's gasoline is loaded daily from this depot for consumption purposes.

Najafi also mentioned that the loading capacity of the Ahvaz Nezamiyeh oil depot has exceeded 10 million liters per day.

He described these records as unprecedented compared to previous years, with 320 million liters of petroleum products loaded and transported daily to various destinations.

Stressing the need for fuel consumption management, Najafi revealed that over 53 million liters of gas oil were delivered daily to power plants in tenth month of the current Iranian year (December 21, 2024-January 19, 2025).
