President stresses balanced focus between energy production, household consumption

SHANA (Tehran) – The president stressed the importance of simultaneously addressing both energy production and household consumption while managing energy imbalances and air pollution in major cities.

On Friday evening, Masoud Pezeshkian attended a meeting at the Ministry of Interior, where he was briefed on the latest developments in energy production and supply, as well as efforts to optimize energy management and combat air pollution.

The session included Minister of Interior Eskandar Momeni, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi, and Industry, Mine, and Trade Minister Mohammad Atabak, as well as relevant deputy ministers and Mohammad-Sadeq Motamedian, the governor general of Tehran Province.

During the meeting, Pezeshkian highlighted the underlying causes of energy imbalances. He noted that clean energy production was now a priority, and he personally would monitor the implementation of this initiative.

He also urged officials to bring any obstacles or issues directly to his attention.

The president called on all energy consumers to adopt energy-saving measures to ensure a sustainable energy supply.

Pezeshkian underscored the need for a balanced approach to both energy production and household consumption, emphasizing the importance of conservation and maintaining reserves, particularly during the cold winter months.

He advised relevant officials to manage production and consumption wisely.

In the meeting, officials provided updates on the current status of energy production and supply, as well as strategies for managing energy imbalances and protecting public health amid air pollution.
