Oil minister visits National Gas Dispatch Center as cold weather approaches

SHANA (Tehran) – Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad visited the National Gas Dispatch Center on Saturday to assess the current state of gas supply across the country as a new cold front hit Iran.

The visit came in response to predictions of an 8–12-degree Celsius drop in temperatures over the coming week, following a cold snap that affected the region.

Top Iranian officials in unison placed a premium on the importance of public participation in optimizing energy consumption and called for nationwide involvement in the “2 Degrees Less” campaign.

Following the invitation by President Massoud Pezeshkian and Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, various officials issued statements urging citizens to join the initiative aimed at reducing energy consumption and ensuring adequate winter fuel supplies.

The Iranian president on Thursday evening called on the public to conserve gas, emphasizing that collective efforts are needed to ensure the uninterrupted supply of fuel across the country.
