Hamel who visited the Minister of Petroleum on September 9 in Tehran to coordinate holding GECF’s ministerial meeting, also thanked Mohsen Paknejad for his hospitality.
The upcoming ministerial meeting in Tehran is crucial and I am sure it will be successfully held in Iran, Mohamed Hamel said in his letter to the Minister of Petroleum.
Hamel announced that the Iranian minister of petroleum’s commitment to promoting dialogue on natural gas issues and energy security is admirable, and fully compliant with the GECF’s goals.
During his meeting with the GECF’s Secretary-General on 9 September, the Minister of Petroleum said that Iran was one of the main founders of GECF, adding “We consider the hosting of the 26th Ministerial Meeting in Tehran at the start of the 14th administration’s taking office as positive.”
He added: “Just as the first Ministerial Meeting of the forum was held in Tehran in 2001 and brought positive outcomes for the members, it is expected that the upcoming meeting will also yield valuable collective achievements.”
Elsewhere, the Minister of Petroleum said: “Considering the specific condition of global gas markets, especially during energy crises, special support should be given to the GECF Secretariat, so that this forum can play a prominent role in stabilizing global energy security through the comprehensive participation and cooperation of its members.”
We hope that the Ministerial Meeting of GECF in Tehran to be effective and fruitful, he said.
The 26th ministerial meeting of GECF will be held in Tehran from 27 to 29 October in Tehran.
