Leader Approves Withdrawal from NDF

SHANA (Tehran) - The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has agreed with the president’s request to allocate part of the National Development Fund’s resources to the government’s financial needs.

President Masoud Pezeshkian had requested the leader to allow him to have access to an additional part of oil and gas revenues for this year.

Under the terms of the annual budget, 40 percent of the country’s oil and gas revenues should be transferred to the National Development Fund which will be halved under the president’s request this year so that the government will be able to spend 20 percent of those revenues to cover its expenses.

This amount will be paid as a loan by which the government will be able to settle its debt to wheat farmers, and truckers while providing some other necessary items.

In his first televised interview, the president said: I don’t want to complain but there is not enough money available and that is why I requested the leader to let us withdraw some money from the fund.
