NIGC’s New CEO Appointed

SHANA (Tehran) - Iranian Minister of Petroleum Mohsen Paknejad has appointed Saeed Tavakoli as the new CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

Since last month when the 14th administration took office, top executives of three main subsidiaries, out of four main subsidiaries, of the Petroleum Ministry including the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), and the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) have been replaced with new missions in the framework of the 14th administration policies.   

Maximum provision of the power plants, industries, and household sectors' need to natural gas, improving energy intensity, optimizing natural gas consumption, increasing gas processing capacity, implementing natural gas development plans, developing gas pipeline network, timely implementation of ongoing projects and boosting gas trade including exports, swap, transit and making revenues are among the main tasks the minister of petroleum has assigned the NIGC’s new CEO to fulfill.

Paknejad also thanked Majid Chegeni efforts during his tenure as the former CEO of NIGC.
