NIOC’s CEO and Board of Directors Appointed

SHANA (Tehran) - Iranian minister of petroleum Mohsen Paknejad appointed Hamid Bovard as the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for two years.

Hamid Bovard replaced Mehsen Khojastehmehr who held the position during the 13th administration in office.

Issuing six other decrees, the petroleum minister also appointed main and alternate members of the National Iranian Oil Company’s (NIOC) board of directors.

Hamid Bovard, Ramin Hatami, Reza Dehghan, Farokh Alikhani, and Ali Pourkabirian are the main members of the NIOC board of directors. Meanwhile, Amir Moghaiseh has been appointed as the alternate member of the board.

Minister of Petroleum, in a separate message, thanked Mohsen Khojastehmehr the former NIOC's CEO for his efforts and wished him success.

After the death of the late President Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisei in a chopper crash incident in May, Iran held a snap election in which Masoud Pezeshkian was chosen as the president in a runoff in July.

In mid-August, the Iranian legislature body also known as Majlis or parliament approved the list of the president’s picks for the 19 ministries including Mohsen Paknejad as the petroleum minister of the 14th administration.
