Speaking at a meeting with the members of the 12th parliament, the Supreme Leader said on Sunday: As I have said frequently, we have no control over removing sanctions and should think of ways to remove them.
He continued: But neutralizing sanctions is at our disposal and there are appropriate solutions which government officials have already pursued some of them with satisfactory results.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader emphasized 8 key points that should be taken into account by the officials. These points are as follows: parliament’s accountability, constructive interaction between the new administration and parliament, speaking with one voice on important issues, the sovereignty of ethics in parliament’s debates and other activities of the representatives, respecting the legislative dos and don'ts, fair supervision, effective supervision on the representatives' performance and parliament’s active presence in global issues and foreign policy.
Underlining the importance of close cooperation between the president-elect and parliament, the Supreme Leader said that the success of the president and the new government is the success of the country adding that all sectors of the establishment should help the president to fulfill his duties towards the country.
