We are determined to indigenize all needs of petrochemical industry and we will gain self-sufficiency within four years, Morteza Shahmirzaei said while visiting the 28th Iran International Oil, Gas, ‎Refining and ‎Petrochemical Exhibition, also known as Iran Oil Show 2024.

There are various petrochemical projects underway in Iran and Iranian manufacturers can supply their needs in line with the leap in production, he added.

Getting the most out of local manufacturers’ potentials to transfer technical know-how, and indigenize and develop modern technologies could help us develop petrochemical industry, he noted.

Iranian companies should get actively involved in manufacturing those goods produced for the first time in the country, he said, adding, “petrochemical projects and complexes are considered greatest markets for Iranian manufacturers.”

On the strategies adopted by the incumbent administration, Shahmirzaei said, “The National Petrochemical Company mainly focuses on finalizing the development of value-added chain, supporting knowledge-based companies and local manufacturing and indigenizing catalyst production.”

The 28th Iran International Oil, Gas, ‎Refining and ‎Petrochemical Exhibition, also known as Iran Oil Show 2024, opened on Wednesday, May 8 in Tehran. It hosts 1750 oil industry related companies, including 250 foreign companies from 12 countries.
