MP: Investments in oil industry promising

SHANA (Tehran) – A member of Iran’s Parliament said increasing investments, development of oil fields, and infrastructure measures in the oil industry are among promising economic moves.

Talking to SHANA, Gholamhossein Rezvani pointed to the oil sector’s first rank in attracting foreign investment in 2023 and added, “These measures’ medium- and long-term effects will emerge in the economic sector and will have impacts on all positive economic parameters, including the increase in gross national product (GNP).”

Touching upon the oil industry’s recent achievements, the lawmaker said it was told in the past that “we cannot sell oil due to sanctions”, but now the country is selling oil and earning its revenues and this is a great success.

Shahbaz Hassanpour Biglari, also a parliamentarian, said, “Under the 13th administration, effective infrastructure measures have been carried out in different sectors, including the oil and gas industry.”

The member of the Parliament’s Economic Committee added the oil, gas, and energy industry is regarded as one of the main sectors of the country’s economy and any progress in the energy production is praiseworthy.

Such measures will not produce short-term tangible results, pointed out the legislator, assuring that their medium- and long-term outcomes will appear.
