Enemy failed to achieve goals behind terrorist attacks on Iran’s gas pipelines, says lawmaker

SHANA (Tehran) – The enemy failed to achieve its goals behind the terrorist attacks on gas transmission pipelines thanks to the Iranian officials’ swift action, said a member of the Parliament’s Energy Committee on Monday.

Ramezanali Sangdovini, who made the remarks in his talks with SHANA, added the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) had a quick reaction to last week’s sabotage, quoting Oil Minister Javad Owji as saying the technical teams are on full alert and prevent any disruption in fuel or gas supply in the country.

The lawmaker expressed his gratitude to the oil minister and NIGC Managing Director Majid Chegeni for repairing the damaged pipelines during round-the-clock operations and preventing any gas outage.

Two explosions struck the gas transmission pipelines at around 1 a.m. local time on Wednesday (2130 GMT), hitting the lines in Borujen, western province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Safa-Shahr, southern province of Fars.
