Villages near exploded pipelines reconnected to national gas network: Owji

SHANA (Tehran) – Villages near the two gas pipelines exploded in western and southern Iran in terrorist attacks have been reconnected to the national grid, said Oil Minister Javad Owji on Wednesday.

The minister, who talked on the sidelines of a crisis management, added the blazes were put out and the repair and replacement of the sabotaged pipelines started.

Now, there is no concern and no gas outage in cities and villages, pointed out Owji, adding the two pipelines will resume pumping gas within hours.

Two explosions struck the gas transmission pipeline at around 1 a.m. local time on Wednesday (2130 GMT), hitting the lines in Borujen, western province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Safa-Shahr, southern province of Fars.
