NIOC chief: Seven oil, gas projects’ operation to create $6b wealth

SHANA (Ahvaz) – The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) managing director said on Tuesday the operation of seven new oil and gas projects will bring in some $6 billion.

Mohsen Khojastehmehr, who made the remarks ahead of the official inauguration of the projects by Oil Minister Javad Owji during a visit to the southwestern province of Khuzestan, added this is a part of the Oil Ministry’s plan for a jump in production.

According to the CEO of NIOC, the launch of the seven projects will add 150,000 barrels of crude oil and 28 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas to the country’s daily production capacities.

He concluded by naming the projects: renovation of Qale Naar pipeline, Shadegan pipeline, Ahvaz desalination unit, increase in Cheshmeh Khosh, Dalpari, and East Paydar fields’ production, start of Sohrab joint oil field, drilling 60 wells in the South Azadegan field, and launch of the new offshore pipeline of Phase 16 of the South Pars gas field.
