Rise in Iran’s oil sales proves foreign policy effective: Spokesman

SHANA (Tehran) – Increase in oil exports, release of frozen assets, expansion of foreign relations, and enhancement of presence in international assemblies are all indicative of effectiveness of the Iranian government’s foreign policy, said the Foreign Ministry spokesman on Monday.

Speaking at a weekly press conference, Nasser Kanaani added the 13th (incumbent) administration has pursued Iran’s rights in different areas and good results have been so far achieved.

Touching upon Iran’s share of the Arash gas field in the Persian Gulf, the spokesman said, “As the oil minister underlined, we will not give up our right to this field.

“Talks on technical issues and frameworks are underway and will continue.”

On Sunday, Oil Minister Javad Owji said Iran will not relinquish its share of the Arash gas field, known as Al-Dorra in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The gas field is located in a neutral maritime zone between Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Owji expressed hope that the issues related to the field will be settled through negotiation with Kuwait.
