IranPlast International Exhibition to help complete petrochemical value chain: Director

SHANA (Tehran) – The director of the 17th International Exhibition of Plastics, Rubber, Machinery and Equipment, commonly known as IranPlast International Exhibition, on Tuesday said the event will pave the way for completing the value chain of the petrochemical industry.

Farid Dousti added the expo is a successful model of great cooperation among Iranian polymer complexes, downstream petrochemical industries, and manufacturers, Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) reported.

He called IranPlast International Exhibition an important event, which plays a major role in domestic and regional polymer markets and is aimed at supporting domestic production.

A considerable number of Iranian and foreign figures will attend the exhibition, said the director, adding more than 300 foreign guests have been also invited to the expo.

Last week, Dousti announced that 560 domestic and 210 foreign companies will participate in the exhibition, which be held at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground from September 17-20.

Pointing to the presence of 20 ambassadors in the upcoming exhibition, he said six contracts and at least 10 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be inked during the international event.

In addition, the director continued, several contracts and MoUs will be signed with Iran’s Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI).

The 17th edition of IranPlast International Exhibition will also include 20 expert-level sessions as well as training and specialized workshops, he concluded.

Deputy oil minister remarks

IranPlast International Exhibition plays an important role in discovering export capacities and needs of the downstream industry, Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister and National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Managing Director Morteza Shahmirzaei said on Saturday.

He added the completion of value chain and the creation of added value are the key factors in the development of the petrochemical industry.

The NPC CEO said the development of technology in the downstream sector is among NPC’s policies, continuing that focusing on the transfer of technology through indigenizing and broadening domestic technical know-how is one of the principles of forming value chain.

The deputy minister described IranPlast International Exhibition as the biggest event of the country’s supplementary and midstream industries of the petrochemical sector, which can play an effective role in promoting cooperation and infrastructure, improving conditions, and removing the potential obstacles in the way of balanced development.
