Chavez assured that Venezuela is the first oil reservoir in the world, and the first gas reservoir in the region, mentioning that the Venezuelan government is planning on building an 8,000-kilometer oil pipeline that will run from the Orinoco River all the way to Argentina. According to President Chavez, these projects are to be executed within the framework of the “Paraguana World Petrochemical Pole.” Chavez also announced that approximately $5 billion would be invested in new technology for all of Venezuelas hospitals towards the end of the year. “I have been struggling with the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) for two years.
