Raeisi: Iran, Kenya can cooperate in petrochemical sector

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi said his country and Kenya can have cooperation in petrochemical, agricultural, fisheries, medical, and scientific sectors.

Raeisi, who arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday as part of his African tour, made the remarks in a joint press with his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto.

There is on obstacle to expansion of ties between Iran and Kenya, said the Iranian president, expressing hope his trip will be a turning point for development of the two countries’ relations.

The African tour will also take Raeisi to Uganda and Zimbabwe – the first by an Iranian president in more than a decade aimed at diversifying relations amid U.S. sanctions.

Iran has managed to make great progress in different fields, including economic, scientific, and technological sectors, in spite of the enemy’s threats and sanctions, said Raeisi, voicing his country’s readiness to share its experiences with Kenya.
