SHANA (Tehran) – Iran gas transmission is expected to reach 280 billion cubic meters in current Iranian calendar year (to end March 19, 2024), head of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company said here on Friday.

Last year (ended March 20, 2023), 274 billion cubic meters of gas were transmitted via pipelines to certain points which is expected to increase to 280 billion cubic meters this year, Gholam Abbas Hosseini said at a press conference held at the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, ‎Refining and ‎Petrochemical Exhibition, also ‎known as Iran Oil Show 2023.

Iran gas transmission rose 2.2 percent last calendar year compared with a year earlier, he said, adding, “There are 39,000 kilometers of high-pressure gas transmission pipelines, 90 gas pressure reduction stations, 61 operation yards, and 33 compressors in total.”

Referring to a 17-percent rise in gas exports in last Iranian calendar year, he noted Iran exported 20 billion cubic meters of gas last year, up from 17 billion cubic meters a year before.

On Iran Oil Show 2023, Hosseini said participation of local and international companies in the exhibition has increased by 35 percent and 100 percent respectively, which is an effective measure despite cruel sanctions imposed by enemies.
