Official: South Pars Gas Complex winter output up 6%

SHANA (Tehran) – South Pars Gas Complex produced 17.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas last winter, up 6% from a year ago, the SPGC deputy managing director announced on Tuesday.

Hossein Shamshiri added 70 to 80 percent of the country’s needs during this period were met by South Pars Gas Complex.

According to him, the reliability of SPGC output improved by 2% in Iranian calendar year of 1401, which ended on March 20, 2023, from a year earlier, hitting 100%.

The complex’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports during last winter increased by around 40% when compared with the volume shipped to other countries in the same season in its preceding year, he continued.

The major overhaul of SPGC lasted 23 days two years ago, recalled Shamshiri, adding the period was reduced to 19 days last year, helping produce 570 million cubic meters more of gas within the four days.
