Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, emphasized that the accumulation of issues over several decades cannot be resolved in just six months, nor did they emerge in that short timeframe. However, the government has chosen consensus not merely as a slogan but as a core strategy.
She added that the 14th administration is committed to consensus, believing it is the only approach that can help address the people's problems.
"We are facing a backlog of issues, and the extent of these imbalances highlights the challenge. Impeachment or resignation will not divert us from this path," Mohajerani stated.
Regarding the government’s plans to fully address these imbalances, she clarified that the 14 megaprojects are divided between production and demand sectors. On the production side, efforts are underway to enhance the capacity of power plants and increase electricity generation through renewable energy sources. A target of producing 30,000 megawatts over four years has been set.
Mohajerani noted that while the seventh development plan initially aimed for 12,000 megawatts of electricity production, the government now plans to raise this to 30,000 megawatts within four years. Programs have been developed for production, transmission, and consumption to help reduce imbalances.
She stressed that imbalances are a painful reality, and accepting this fact makes it easier to address. "We are facing significant imbalances in the energy and water sectors," she said.
