Gas Swap Deal Marks End of Energy Diplomacy Stalemate with Neighbors: MP

TEHRAN (Shana) -- A member of the Energy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said that the gas swap between Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan shows the strong will of the Ministry of Petroleum in economic and energy diplomacy.

In an interview with Shana, Hadi Beiginejad referred to the tripartite agreement on gas swaps between Iran, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and said: "The signing of this agreement showed that we must have the will to do some things. The Ministry of Petroleum showed strong will to have such agreements.”

He added: "This agreement will be both economically beneficial for us and will help strengthen friendly relations with neighboring countries, although economic relations with neighbors should be further developed."
