The text of the decree of Mohsen Khojastehmehr, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, addressed to Mehdi Fakour reads:

"Due to your commitment, expertise and valuable experience, you were appointed as the" Exploration Director of the National Iranian Oil Company". According to this, and given the importance and role of the department in identifying and increasing the country's oil and gas reserves, the following items are emphasized in the area of ​​your Excellency's missions:

- Proper planning in the exploration of oil and gas resources in the field of exploration in order to obtain the maximum recovery rate of oil and gas reserves, especially in border structures and joint fields;

- Exert efforts to attract domestic and foreign capital in exploration blocks;

- Policy-making and excellent supervision of all exploration activities in the subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Company;

- Planning and taking action to apply new technologies in identifying new hydrocarbon fields and reserves;

- Attracting and employing faithful, efficient and talented forces and using capable, specialized and anti-corruption revolutionary leaders;

- Strengthening professional, managerial, skills and professional ethics with the aim of training qualified experts and managers.”
