According to President.ir, Seyed Ibrahim Raisi addressed his Tajik counterpart on Saturday, September 18 at a meeting of Iranian and Tajik high-level delegations, stated that relations between the two nations are based on a common religion, culture, language and history.
"I hope that my visit to Tajikistan, which is my first foreign trip as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be a turning point and a new chapter in the comprehensive cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe," he said.
He said that expansion of relations with the region and neighboring countries is a priority of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the new era, adding: “Iran uses its capacities and facilities in the field of transportation and access to high seas. Acquisition and activation of these capacities can play an effective role in deepening friendship and strengthening Iran's interactions with countries in the region.”
