POGC CEO Stresses Need for Maintaining South Pars Production

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) announced the compilation and presentation of a document for the maintenance of production from the South Pars joint field, saying: “It is necessary for this document to be fully implemented in the coming years.”

Addressing a virtual ceremony for completing the activities of the offshore section of the South Pars Joint Field in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani, Mr. Meshkingfam said: “Natural gas production at South Pars Joint Gas Field has now reached 700 million cubic meters per day, which is 2.5 times more than the daily production of 280 million cubic meters back in 2013.”

He stated that the cumulative production of the South Pars joint field in 2020 was 223 billion cubic meters, equivalent to 70% of the country's total gas production, and added: "In total, the total gas extracted from the field since its development has been 1,865 billion cubic meters of which 1,300 billion cubic meters, equivalent to 70% of it, was produced during the past 8 years.”

The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company noted that the offshore section of South Pars includes drilling wells, installing well platforms and related accessories, and installing submarine pipelines between platforms and onshore refineries. In the last eight years, 228 wells with a total drilling area of ​​one million meters.
