Hamidreza Saghafi, the CEO of Drilling International Limited Company (DCI), told PETROIRAN: "Following the activities of Petroiran Development Company in increasing oil production in Esfand and Sivand fields (Siri Operational District), after drilling and successful completion of wells SICF7-SICF6 ,SICE10 and E1P6, the SICE6 well of Nasr 5 Satellite Platform, the first production well of this platform, also became operational.”
He pointed out that the conditions of Nasr 5 platform of Sivand Field are unique due to the unconventional dimensions of the platform and the instability of the seabed at the location of the platform, as well as the limitations caused by power cables and entry and exit lines to the platform, added: “Deploying conventional drilling rigs in the Persian Gulf along this platform has been virtually impossible, and as a result of these limitations, drilling operations to develop the Sivand field have not been possible over the past decades.”
Saghafi continued: "Considering the concerns of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company as the project employer, DCI (a subsidiary of Petroiran Development Company) has started considering all the possible scenarios by identifying technical risks and economic feasibility along with simulation and dimensional analysis of existing drilling rigs.
