Iran OPEC Boss Meets Sec. Gen. Barkindo

VIENNA (Shana) – Iran’s OPEC Governor Amir Hossein Zamaninia met with HE Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in Vienna on Thursday to discuss ideas concerning Iran’s return to the global oil market.

Following the meeting, Amir Hossein Zamaninia told Shana that the OPEC secretary general had expressed hope for the favorable outcome of the current talks over Iran’s nuclear deal with the world powers and the end of the unjust conditions imposed on Iran and lifting of the sanctions.

He added: "I also talked to the Secretary General about the current management issues of the OPEC Governing Board, including employment of new forces in the COVID-19 pandemic, and I asked for online interviews."

Iran's OPEC governor further added: "In this meeting, which lasted an hour and a half, the OPEC Secretariat presented the memorial of the late Hossein Kazempour Ardabili."

Zamaninia, the Deputy Minister Petroleum for International Affairs and Trade, is in Vienna for talks within the framework of the P4 + 1 talks.
