Dr. Hassan Rouhani, today (Thursday, January 21) at a ceremony to exploit the national projects of the Bidboland Persian Gulf gas refinery, while congratulating the people of Khuzestan and all those who benefit from this project, said: “The issue of gas flaring was very important for us, when we passed through this area, we felt that the national capital was being burned, but today we have reached the goal we were pursuing for years. I believe such important projects will pave the way for the next administration.”
Emphasizing that the National Development Fund of Iran supports the industry, especially the petrochemical industry, he added: "As the chairman of the board of trustees of the Fund, I state that there are the necessary resources for the development of this industry (petrochemical) and we will do whatever is needed."
He further highlighted the launch of 11 petrochemical projects in the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, expressing optimism that 6 more projects would come online by the end of the year.
Rouahni said people should know that 38% of the money from the sale of the country's crude oil shipments is deposited in the National Development Fund, therefore, not all the money from the shipments sold is given to the government and only 14.5% of it goes to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
He further said that the world was in need of Iran’s oil and gas exports.
“We can become the region’s gas production and export hub as energy power is one of the pillars of our prowess,” he went on to add.
He said the number of countries that receive Iran’s gas should increase from currently only two countries.
