Bangestan Reservoir of Nargesi Field Productive: NISOC

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Well No. 13 of Nargesi oilfield has become productive and thus, extraction of oil from the Bangestan reservoir of this field became possible for the first time in Iran, announced the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).

The company announced productivity of Well No. 13 of Nargesi field, saying this well has been drilled under NISOC's 28 reservoirs development scheme; after completion in Sarvak Formation and open hole acidification, it is possible to recover oil from Bangestan reservoir of the field with a flow rate of approximately 3,000 barrels per day with a pressure of 1600 psi.

Previously, oil was extracted only from the Asmari-Jahrom reservoir of Nargesi field and the reservoirs of Bangestan and Khami did not produce oil.

The Asmari-Jahrom reservoir of Nargesi field was discovered in 1974 by drilling well number one but it became productive in 1997. The amount of oil extracted from 12 wells in this field has reached roughly 97 million barrels.

Nargesi oil field is located 70 km northeast of Bushehr port, at the southeastern tip of Dezful, and adjacent to Rudak, Solabdar and Golkhari fields. The approximate length and width of this field is 28 and 4 km, respectively, and its development has been entrusted to Dana Drilling Company under NISOC’s 28-reservoir development scheme.
