NIGC Mulls 70mcm/d Gas Exports in Winter

TEHRAN (Shana) – The dispatching director of the National Gas Company (NIGC) said plans were under way for the supply of a maximum of 820 million cubic meters of gas per day during winter, adding, "Of this figure, about 600 million cubic meters per day will be allocated to the household sector and 70 million cubic meters to exports."

According to IRNA, Mohammad Reza Jolaei stated that 700 million cubic meters of sweet gas is currently being produced in the country, adding that 300 million cubic meters of this amount is consumed in the household sector, which due to lower temperatures in most parts of the country, has increased by 120 million cubic meters.

He noted that the repairs of gas refineries would be completed by the late October, adding: "With the end of the repairs, we will reach maximum gas production."

The director of NIGC dispatching said on average about 30 to 40 million cubic meters of gas will be delivered to power plants in December, adding the amount of gas to be delivered to power plants depends on the pattern of gas consumption in the household sector, which can vary depending on the temperature.

He further said that 30 million cubic meters of gas has been added to consumption due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
