According to OPEC.org, discussions covered the current oil market situation, the historic Declaration of Cooperation, Iran’s historical and positive role in OPEC and the potential for future bilateral cooperation.

HE Barkindo praised OPEC’s current longest-serving minister, HE Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, who has been an advocate of OPEC for decades; a personal friend and a great supporter of the Organization’s work.

HE Baharvand thanked the Secretary General for the warm welcome, congratulated the whole OPEC Family on the recent diamond anniversary of the Organization, and underscored the importance of dialogue, at all levels.
