Hamid Bovard made the remarks Tuesday evening, Oct. 13, during a meeting to assess reconstruction projects at damaged South Pars refineries and the Jam Petrochemical, Damavand Energy Assaluyeh and Mobin Energy Persian Gulf companies in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone.
Bovard stressed the need to speed up the projects, saying contracts should be amended if necessary to accelerate reconstruction.
“We need to establish a common understanding with banks to finance these projects,” he said, adding that multiple funding sources had been considered.
Bovard said time should not be wasted in rebuilding damaged oil industry facilities and that proposed solutions should benefit all parties involved in the projects.
He also welcomed contractors’ proposals for reconstructing and modernizing the facilities, saying the Oil Ministry’s experts would conduct technical reviews and implement proposals if approved.
The acting minister said the ministry’s top priority was ensuring a stable gas supply to the public during the winter.
Although carrying out reconstruction work at a rapid pace would be challenging, he said, all efforts must be mobilized to serve the country’s needs.
During the meeting, officials, contractors and project managers reviewed progress on reconstruction projects at the damaged South Pars refineries and the three petrochemical and energy companies. They also discussed obstacles to accelerating the work and agreed on measures to address the challenges.
Earlier Tuesday, Bovard visited the damaged South Pars refineries and the Jam Petrochemical and Mobin Energy Persian Gulf facilities alongside Musa Ahmadi, chairman of Parliament’s Energy Committee, and Bushehr Governor General Arslan Zare.
