Ali-Mohammad Pourreza said that the refinery had implemented a series of production, development and localization projects to prepare for the coming winter and maintain reliable operations.
He said Bidboland Gas Refinery remained a key pillar of Iran’s gas industry, with a mandate to ensure a stable energy supply while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
Annual major maintenance is essential to preparing refineries for harsh operating conditions during winter, Pourreza said. The refinery carried out detailed technical inspections and preventive and major maintenance on processing equipment, dehydration units, compressors, instrumentation systems and transmission pipelines to prevent bottlenecks in production, he added.
Online monitoring to ensure operational reliability
Pourreza said safety remained a fundamental priority at the refinery, emphasizing that production without safety had no value.
During the extensive maintenance operations, the health, safety and environment (HSE) department conducted round-the-clock supervision, assessed occupational risks, enforced safe-work permits and implemented strict safety procedures, he said.
These measures enabled the refinery to complete the work without accidents, protecting its workforce during the operations, Pourreza added.
Ensuring uninterrupted production requires a systematic approach, real-time monitoring of operational parameters, comprehensive spare-parts management and full preparedness among operational and shift teams, he said.
With new maintenance systems in place and contingency scenarios developed for potential emergencies, the refinery expects to maintain uninterrupted gas production even during the coldest days of winter, Pourreza added.
He also pointed to a significant increase in gas production in recent years, particularly in 1404 and 1405, crediting the workforce's efforts.
The higher output has played an important role in supplying feedstock to downstream industries and generating foreign currency earnings for Iran, he said.
Pourreza added that the refinery could maximize production to its designed capacity if it received sufficient feedstock.
Emissions cuts support environmental goals
Highlighting the refinery's commitment to green refining, Pourreza said industrial development must go hand in hand with environmental protection.
Through efficiency measures, the facility has prevented the consumption of 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 1,000 metric tons, he said.
The emissions reduction is equivalent to the environmental benefit of planting 16,000 trees, according to Pourreza.
He said the refinery planned to implement more projects in automation and energy efficiency in the near future.
New initiatives to reduce environmental pollution, optimize energy consumption in furnaces and rotating equipment, and improve equipment reliability have also helped enhance the refinery's operational efficiency, he added.
Pourreza said these efforts demonstrated the company's commitment to environmental protection while strengthening its industrial performance and long-term operational sustainability.
