Addressing a ceremony to officially launch the second phase of Takt Jamshid Petrochemical Plant, Parviz Hamidi said on Tuesday that the plant’s production capacity for elastomers had reached 131,000 tons/year.

He pointed out that Takht Jamshid Petrochemical Company had put this plan on its agenda in order to supply the required rubber polymers to the country, adding: “From technical knowledge to the final stages of the second phase of the project were carried out by domestic experts of HNT Holding Company’s subsidiaries.”

He said that most of the equipment needed for this project were built with the capability of local companies, adding: “More than 90% of the equipment was provided by local manufacturers.”

Pointing out that the second phase of plant was completed within a short period of 16 months, he said launching the project, besides covering the domestic needs of the country in the automotive sector, home appliances, sports equipment and so on, would make exports possible, hence generating wealth for the country.

According to him, the plant was environmentally friendly and would not cause any pollution.
