According to the National Petrochemical Company, Hassan Abbaszadeh said Tuesday during a visit to petrochemical facilities in Asalouyeh that several key petrochemical projects are becoming operational as planned during this period, with some opening today.
He added that the projects scheduled for inauguration are in both production and infrastructure sectors. Their results will strengthen production capacity, develop the value chain and deliver valuable achievements to the industry and the nation.
The CEO highlighted the role of major investments in the industry's development, noting significant investment by Shastan Company, a subsidiary of the Armed Forces Pension Fund, which has created valuable infrastructure through effective project execution.
Abbaszadeh said that with the launch of the Bushehr Petrochemical ethylene and mono-ethylene glycol units, the industry's nominal capacity will exceed 100 million tons. This milestone, he said, represents sustainable and program-driven growth for the sector.
Referring to the country's overarching development goals, he added: "We hope that through the efforts of dedicated colleagues in the petrochemical industry, and within the framework of the Seventh Development Plan emphasized by the president as government policy, we can achieve the target capacity of 131.5 million tons by the end of the plan."
