Iran Eyes Enhanced Output at North Yaran Oilfield

TEHRAN (Shana) – The CEO of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) said new downhole pumps were being installed in North Yaran Oilfield which would increase the field’s oil output by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2020.

Speaking to Shana, Touraj Dehghani said, "Successful installation of the first borehole pump in North Yaran in August led to increased productivity of the joint field which is continuing.”

North Yaran Oil Field Development Plan, with a daily production capacity of 30,000 barrels/day, was inaugurated in November 2016.

The field faced a drop in production afterwards but downhole pumps were used to boost the field’s output.

The first pump was installed at the 2,300-meter depth of Well No. 4 of the field inside s 7-inch lining pipe and added 1,000 b/d to the field’s production capacity.

The field is located 130 km off the southwestern city of Ahwaz.
