According to NIDC, the wells include an exploration well, 52 development-appraisal wells and 70 workovers.

Abdollah Mousavi, the NIDC CEO, told a televised interview on Saturday that during the period, NIDC carried out 170,270 meters of drilling in the country.

The number included 26,810 meters of horizontal and directional wells.

He said the company had also entered into field-oriented projects together with private sector developers in Gachsaran and Naftshahr fields.

NIDC is also cooperating with research and scientific center and knowledge-based companies in order to manufacturing items and stuff that were used for drilling operations.

State-run NIDC owns 72 offshore and onshore drilling rigs.
