Impaired Iran Oil Tanker Stable in the Red Sea: NITC

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) reported the technical defect of one of its vessels in the Red Sea, and said the tanker’s crew were fixing the problem and it was in stable and safe condition.

According to NITC, the HELM vessel suffered a technical malfunction at 6:30 a.m. (Tehran time) on Tuesday 75 kilometers off the Yanbu port in the Red Sea.

Akbar Jebel Ameli, technical director of NITC, said: "The ship's crew are fixing the defect and the vessel is in stable and safe condition."

"Fortunately, the ship's crew are in safe condition," he said. "The necessary steps are being taken to fix the problem; the crew are fully prepared and are working to fix the problem."
