Fereydoun Heidari said the overhauls will start with the ninth refinery, emphasizing the project’s focus on optimizing operations amid Iran’s “unique energy sector conditions.”
He stressed that maintaining production stability, particularly during colder months, while adhering to strict safety and environmental protocols, remains a top priority.
Heidari added that the 1404 overhaul plan aligns with broader goals set by Iran’s Oil Ministry and the National Iranian Gas Company to sustain domestic gas supplies, exports and byproduct production.
Preparations, including high-level planning meetings, have already been completed, and a preliminary proposal for overhauls at all 13 refineries has been submitted to the National Iranian Gas Company.
The work will begin in March 2025 on the ninth refinery and conclude in late October 2025 with the twelfth and thirteenth refineries.
Heidari noted the overhauls are designed to balance production needs with efficient timelines and methods, leveraging skilled personnel, 100 percent domestically produced materials and refinery machinery.
“This effort aims to advance the complex’s strategic objectives and bolster Iran’s economic growth,” he said.
