Addressing reporters on Monday, Ghasemi said that granting sanctions waivers to eight countries by the US was an indication of Washington’s realization of this fact.
“We were already informed that many countries had reached out to American officials and the US Department of Treasury to work out ways to continue their cooperation with Iran in the oil and energy sector,” he said.
In recent weeks, he added, American officials had realized that they could not impose sanctions on Iran’s energy sector.
