The structure was launched on Thursday, said Alireza Ebadi, operator of phase 20 and 21 projects of the gas field.
Ebadi said the platform’s flair has been lit and gas transfer to onshore facilities of the phase has started from the platform.
The structure is the 21st topside Iran has installed at South Pars joint field in Persian Gulf waters.
Weighing 2,700 tons, the platform, once fully operational, will add 28.3 mcm of natural gas to the field’s daily output.
