Min.: Iran Committed to Paris Agreement

TEHRAN, Aug 29 (Shana) – Minister of Energy, Hamid Chitchian, says Iran is committed to the Paris agreement.

Speaking to French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Ségolène Royal, on Sunday, Chitchian said as far as water and power projects are concerned, the Parliament considers itself committed to the Paris agreement for minimizing emission of greenhouse gases.

He said he and the French minister had discussed two-way energy cooperation.  

He said that by the year 2030, a power plant with the capacity of generating about 7,500 electricity will be set up in Iran and by the next five years 5,000 megawatts will be set up, which is an area for Iran-France cooperation.
