Parallel Delivery of Offshore Platforms Localized

TEHRAN, July 04 (Shana) -- Director of Khorramshahr Yards of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) said Iran has now indigenized parallel delivery of giant structures and needs no foreigner help for such operations.

Ali Haj Aghaei Khiabani, speaking on the sidelines of an operation to deliver two platforms of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field at Khorramshahr Yard on Sunday, July 03, said Abouzar Barge is carrying platforms 19A and 21 of the gas field which together weight over 5,400 tons.

He said the two structures will arrive at their designated offshore spots within a week if the climate remains calm during the week.

This is the first time that two platforms are being delivered at the same time without any support from a foreign party in Iran, he added.

Platform 21 will be installed over phase 21 and will produce a billion cubic feet per day once fully operational. Platform 19A will operate at half the capacity of platform 21.
