Singaporean Firm Eyes Operation on Lavan Island

TEHRAN, July 02 (Shana) -- Managing director of Lavan Special Economic Zone Organization (LSEZO) says Singaporean firms have indicated their readiness to develop energy infrastructure projects on the Lavan Island in Persian Gulf waters.

Abdolhamid Zarei, in a meeting with Singapore's TAL Engineering Company, underlined investment opportunities in the island, adding, "The island's potentialities are so hot that have already grabbed the attention of many foreign investors."

He also voiced LSEZO's readiness to absorb investments of leading foreign companies in the island.

Given the number of interested foreign developers to step in projects in the zone, they have to have their credentials vetted before any deals can be inked with them, further said Zarei.

For his part representative of TAL Engineering said his company is prepared to join oil projects like refinery projects or production of petroleum products in Lavan Island.
