Oil Ministry completes 2,858 social responsibility projects

SHANA (Tehran) – The Oil Ministry has completed and commissioned 2,858 social responsibility projects across all 31 provinces over the past two years under the 14th administration, focusing on infrastructure development and balanced regional growth.

Under the direction and follow-up of Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, the ministry has pursued social responsibility projects in areas including education, sports, health care, roads, water supply, electricity, rural development plans and public services.

According to recorded performance data, the Oil Ministry has been pursuing 8,474 social responsibility projects nationwide. Of these, 2,858 projects, valued at more than 96 trillion rials, have been completed and put into operation during the past two years.

Sports infrastructure

Expanding sports facilities and promoting sports participation has been one of the ministry's key social responsibility priorities.

Over the past two years, 628 sports projects have been implemented nationwide. Fars province accounted for the largest share with 214 projects, followed by Khuzestan with 105 projects. Khuzestan has a strong track record of producing national and international athletes, particularly in weightlifting.

561 education projects completed

The ministry has also focused on strengthening educational infrastructure. During the past two years, 561 education projects have been implemented, covering initiatives ranging from school construction to educational and academic support for students and teachers.

Khuzestan led the country with 177 education projects, some of which have been completed and commissioned over the past two years.

190 road projects completed

The Oil Ministry has also implemented road and transportation projects designed to serve communities surrounding oil industry operations.

A total of 190 road projects have been completed and commissioned. South Khorasan accounted for 50 projects, followed by Khuzestan with 46 and Bushehr with 42.

Other provinces benefiting from road projects included Mazandaran with 11; Ilam and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari with eight each; Fars, Razavi Khorasan and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad with four each; Zanjan with three; Sistan-Baluchestan, Hamadan and Yazd with two each; and East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan and Markazi with one each.

802 rural development projects

Rural development plans have been another major component of the ministry's social responsibility program.

Over the past two years, 802 rural development projects have been implemented across the country, with Bushehr accounting for the largest share at 208 projects, followed by Hamadan with 175.

Water supply for cities and villages

Improving water access in small cities and rural communities has also been among the ministry's priorities.

During the past two years, 87 water supply projects have been implemented, including pipeline construction and the provision of drinking water. Khuzestan accounted for 35 of these projects, the highest number among the provinces.

92 health projects completed

The ministry has completed and commissioned 92 health care projects over the past two years, including 27 projects in Khuzestan.

The initiatives included equipping general hospitals and constructing accommodation facilities for patients' families near hospitals.

Electricity supply has also been addressed through the social responsibility program, with 26 projects under implementation or follow-up across eight provinces.

472 public service projects

Another major category has been public service projects, covering a wide range of social needs in almost every province.

The projects include housing for people in need, providing school supplies for students, construction and renovation of martyrs' cemeteries, mosque renovations, empowerment programs for female-headed households, library construction and housing for disadvantaged families.

The ministry has implemented 472 public service projects, with Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari recording the largest number at 77.

Overall, the figures show that social responsibility under the 14th administration has extended beyond infrastructure projects in communities surrounding oil industry operations to encompass education, sports, health care, water, roads, electricity and social services across all 31 provinces, with the goal of strengthening local infrastructure and supporting more balanced regional development.
