The remarks come after Interior Minister expressed concerns about the role dirty money could play in parliamentary elections which is going to be held late this year.
Deputy speaker of parliament said, "Due to various interpretations and misunderstandings by media, Parliament decided to call on Interior Minister to attend the parliament and present a more transparent explanation about his remarks."
He noted that the executive and judicial branches are responsible for the fight against corruption and smuggling and Interior Ministry should use all its capabilities in a decisive way to fight against any wrongdoing.
“If there is corruption, for instance, in customs offices, it’s a subdivision of executive branch”, he said noting, “Fortunately the country has up-to-date rules pertaining to fight against smuggling and their enforcement will ensure a healthy economy.”
