Meeting Electricity Needs a Priority, Chitchian

TEHRAN Dec 27 (Shana)--Meeting industrial sector’s need for electricity is one of the top priorities of Iran's Ministry of Energy, Hamidreza Chitchian, the Energy Minister said.

Public relations department of Ministry of Energy quoted the minister as saying, during his visit to Birjand capital of South Khorasan province, that the province’s power facilities are strong enough with satisfactory power lines.  

He stated that Ministry of Energy and its subsidiaries are well prepared to meet water and electricity needs of manufacturing units of the province along with the administration’s efforts to ride out of recession.

“Converting gas burning power plant of Qaen city to a combined cycle one is top on the agenda of the Ministry of Energy, Chitchian said.

Energy Minister also assured industrial and manufacturing units of the province that the ministry will back investors in their drive to develop towns.
