According to PEDEC, CEO Nasrollah Zarei said the power plant, which primarily generates electricity for oil production facilities and operational infrastructure in the West Karoun region, has been able to export excess power through optimized energy management, improved efficiency and stable operations.
He said the move comes as ensuring a reliable energy supply for major industries, particularly petrochemical complexes, has become increasingly important. Leveraging existing capacity within the oil industry, he added, can strengthen the resilience of the country's industrial infrastructure.
Zarei stressed the need for greater coordination across Iran's oil and energy sectors, saying the country must maximize the use of existing infrastructure to support national production. He said the West Karoun Power Plant has maintained a stable electricity supply for regional oil operations while contributing surplus power to the national grid to help sustain industrial activity.
He added that closer cooperation among the oil, gas, petrochemical and energy sectors is essential to maintaining production and development under challenging conditions. PEDEC, he said, is pursuing the optimal use of its existing assets to reinforce energy security for the country's productive industries.
Zarei also praised the technical expertise of the West Karoun Power Plant's workforce, saying their efforts have ensured uninterrupted electricity generation for oil operations while creating additional capacity to support the national grid during critical periods and help keep strategic industries operating.
