Mohammad Rashidi said the development of renewable energy is one of the most effective ways to increase electricity generation and ease pressure on the power sector amid ongoing supply-demand imbalances.
He said greater investment in renewable energy would not only help ensure a more stable electricity supply but also reduce reliance on fossil fuels, delivering significant environmental benefits.
Rashidi added that bringing new renewable energy capacity online would help offset part of the country's electricity shortfall and improve power supply during the peak summer demand season.
He said Parliament is committed to supporting the expansion of renewable energy and will use its legislative and oversight powers to remove barriers to investment in the sector.
