Mohsen Paknejad told state TV that the malicious Zionist-American enemy targeted sections of gas facilities, fuel supply infrastructure and storage tanks in Tehran province during the conflict.
Paknejad said oil industry workers quickly restored much of the damaged capacity by using alternative resources and existing infrastructure.
“Although our colleagues rapidly returned a large part of what we had lost to the network, we will undoubtedly continue to need public cooperation in optimizing fuel consumption,” he said.
The minister emphasized that he was not calling for reduced consumption, but rather for proper and efficient fuel use.
“With the cooperation of our dear people, God willing, we will be able to bring units that may require a longer period of repair back into operation,” he added.
